Get to know our newest members, Bettina & Terry Johnston, and the journey that brought them to VYC.

We’re delighted to welcome Bettina and Terry Johnston to Vallarta Yacht Club! They became full-time residents of Bahía de Banderas about four years ago, relocating from Kelowna, BC, Canada. With several friends already living in the area, the decision to move was an easy one—and they haven’t looked back.

Bettina_Atley_JohnsonTerry is a partially retired doctor, while Bettina is a partially retired medical aesthetician and herbalist. She also has a creative side, crafting her own serums, soaps, and candles, which she makes and sells to friends and neighbors. This season, Bettina is hoping to bring her products to the Tuesday Market with a booth, and she also maintains a studio in Mezcales where she continues her work in medical aesthetics.

The couple first discovered Vallarta Yacht Club when Bettina’s friend Maureen invited her to play cards—something she loves. From that first introduction, they quickly realized how much VYC has to offer and knew it was the right fit.

At home, Bettina and Terry share their lives with two lively part-Bengal cats, Oscar and Felix, who keep things entertaining.

Please join us in giving Bettina and Terry a warm welcome to the VYC community. We look forward to seeing them around the club, whether at the card table, the market, or simply enjoying time with fellow members!
