Christmas Toy Collection

This Christmas toy collection is for the 400 children of Families at the Dump. FAD is a supported charity as part of the VYC Community Action Program, and this effort is intended to help disadvantaged children have a joyful holiday. Toys will be collected Dec 1-23 and distributed on the Kings Day celebration in January. Click here for details on the VYC Toy Drive.

Everyone who has an interest in promoting sailing in Banderas Bay is welcome to become a member of SSS. You do not have to be a member of VYC to participate in SSS!

Whale Watching

Come Welcome our large friends to the bay. December 8th is the semi-official start of the Whale Watching "season" on Banderas Bay. Some of the tour operators have reported fewer sightings in recent years due to increased traffic and poor control of the whale watching fleet. The best bet has beeen the North Coast between Nuevo and Punta de Mita, so we'll start off that way. Yemaya will be getting off the dock about 10:00 and will monitor VHF 22 @ 63. We'll have a nice day just mucking about in boats, even if the whales are playing hard to get!

The Crocodile Classic - Paddleboard Day at VYC

Join us for the first VYC Paddleboard Day! VYC has partnered with the Pacific Paddle for the first in a series of paddleboard events for the entire family. There is something for everyone: a Beginner fun race, a Distance sprint for the more experienced and a Relay race for Kids.

Pacific Paddle Surf from Bucerias is bringing plenty of paddleboards for participants who want to borrow one and try this amazing new sport. Proceeds go toward sending the Mexican National Stand-up Paddleboard Team (SUP) to the 2013 International Surfing Assn Games.
