Mondays and Wednesdays are Group Play Days for the Train with play starting at 1 pm. All VYC members and their guests are welcome to play together regardless of age, sex, language, or experience. Painting With Federico

This week’s lesson is about composition: bringing the elements together into a framable painting.. Bring your sketchbook. If this is your first time at these classes, and it’s all new to you, Federico will provide your first sketchbook and pencil as a welcome gift. Please note that the class day has changed to Mondays and on March 6th will be 3 pm to 5 pm

Presentation: Manta Rays in Banderas Bay and Beyond

Proyecto Manta Pacific México focuses on protecting manta rays in Bahía de Banderas through research, community involvement, and conservation efforts. They use visual census, photo ID collection, acoustic and satellite tagging, data analysis, and modeling to identify factors influencing manta ray aggregation. PMPM works closely with local communities, involving fishermen and students in research activities to raise awareness and promote sustainable tourism. They aim to foster knowledge about marine conservation and promote community-supported manta ray protection guidelines. Join their presentation to learn more about their important work!

Painting With Federico

 This week the class will focus on composition. This photo of Sorolla”s “Mending the Sail” will be                                                 referenced to study various aspects of composition::what to include and what to keep out, the golden proportion, balance, and framing of the scene.. There will be soul searching to learn why you want to paint a particular scene or subject and make it shine.                                                                                                                                                                                                                    $1000 Pesos  or $50 US   per person.

Our very own living, growing, and ever changing natural landscapes. What's the best part of these adventures, YOU don't have to maintain it, just walk in and enjoy different life cycles happening before your very eyes!

Some of the topics discussed will include safety, terrain ranging from easy to difficult, wildlife, why our climate is different, and a few more important points.

Banderas Bay Beercan Series

VYC Wednesday Beer Can Rally. The Beer Can Rallies will sail off Bucerias every other Wednesday until Banderas Bay Regatta in March 2023.

We start these fun events November 9. They continue every other Wednesday until March 15 where the race will be part of the Banderas Bay Regatta "Start Your Heart Out" practice day. The beer can races are free to enter and can be sailed just for fun. If you will be sailing in BBR, please contact VYC to make sure we know enough about your boat to assign a handicap.

Painting With Federico

This week’s lesson will be about perspective. He will demonstrate the 1,  2, and 3 point perspectives and also apply it to shadows. The class will be held in the large palapa at Marina Residences, from 2 to 4 pm on Monday March 20.

Laissez les bons temps rouler - Gumbo Night!

Let the good times roll! Come one, come all to Gumbo Night! Andy and Liz and NOLA friends will be making gumbo for VYC members and guests. Join us for a night of Cajun food, including chicken and andouille gumbo, Cajun style BBQ shrimp and a few special extras. Andy claims that while working in the oilfields, he was taught the ancient art of making Louisiana gumbo. We'll see!

Hopefully Andy will find some real zydeco music to dance to. Wear your best Mardi Gras beads and come ready to have a good time!
