FAD Shoes & Clothing Drive

Time to clean out your closets and help some folks!  VYC is holding a 2 week drive collecting used clothing - shoes, especially!  Bring any clothing -- all sizes, fill some bags with used shoes and clothing for their store. End of season is a great time to clean out the closets.  Extra non-perishable food? Add it to the bag! The VYC will hold this Shoe & Clothing Drive from May 15-30. Leaving earlier? Drop it off any time at the VYC, we'll get it to the Families at the Dump. What could be easier?

The "helping hand" store at the FAD location next to the Dump is where families registered with the Families at the Dump program can use the points they earn in exchange for clothing. Helping with the day care center and other activities all earn participants 'points.'  This way, FAD provides a helping hand, not a handout, as families learn that productive work and participation leads to a better life.

PV Garden Club Work Day

Fiesta de Trabajo – Saturday, June 16th with the Puerto Vallarta Garden Club, a non-profit organization.
For those of you still in Vallarta, you are invited to a “work party” – Fiesta Trabajo – on Saturday, June 16th at Lazaro Cardenas Park. Everyone will work all day until we are finished. Bring your gardening gloves!

Puerto Vallarta Garden Club is partnering with the neighborhood association and the city to renovate what has become an eyesore in the heart of the Romantic Zone. Except for the anchor of the three spectacular trees there, the plantings in the park are mostly dead.

The PV Garden Club is donating the new plantings, and has been assured by all concerned that regular watering of the plantings will be done. This party is one of many to be hosted in anticipation of the first annual bougainvillea festival to be held one year from now.

Music, food and beverages, and a feeling of accomplishment are all part of what’s in store.  More Info, click here.
