Please join us April 6 at 6:30pm for what is guaranteed to be a night of fun and adventure: Tango in Paradise, 2013. Hosted by the Vallarta Yacht Club, located in the Paradise Village Marina in Nuevo Vallarta.

Whether you like to dance, or prefer to watch the energy and color on the dance floor, there is enjoyment for everyone, and you will surely love the Tapas and Sangria.

While sipping your ice-cold drink, you will enjoy Beautiful Christina and Handsome Hugo spin in the air, both incredible accomplished dancers from HBoss Entertainment. After the short Tango performance, group and individual Tango lessons will follow, music playing into the night as participants get to practice, show off and just have fun.

If you are over 12 years old, your entrance fee of $300 pesos will include tapas dinner and a welcome drink of Sangria, all the tango you can dance and access to incredible raffle and silent auction items, donated by incredibly generous companies around the Bay who care and enjoy contributing to the community. Tickets for children under 12 are half price. So it’s a family fun night, open to the public Please join us!

Nancy Fletcher is putting together a VYC Cookbook, called "Cooking in Paradise". All members are welcome to contribute one or two of their favorite recipes.

We've all been so busy since we got back from Tenacatita that there hasn't been time to do a full report on the event. Suffice it to say that we all had a great time. Thanks to Lyon Around, Toothpick, Fairy Tales, Yemaya and many others for making it a great success.

This January, in a special membership meeting, two important By-Law changes were approved by VYC membership:

1. In honor of VYC's first 10 years, the Plankowner membership level was frozen. Since this membership level was originally intended to honor those who were the “first crew”, it seemed appropriate that these first contributors to our success should be honored by holding the existing Plankowner memberships at its current level. Those who are already Plankowners will retain the designation in recognition of their support of the club in our early years.

2. A new enhanced membership level, Gold Flag, has been introduced. This membership level has the following requirements and benefits:

• Gold Flag membership is available to any new or existing Flag member who makes a minimum of $1500 donation to the club, in addition to normal initiation.
• Gold Flag members will be given a 15% discount over member prices at the bar and restaurant.
• The 4 month minimum dues requirement to maintain good standing is reduced to 2 months. As always, members are required to pay dues for those months that they use the club in addition to their minimum.
• Gold Flag members will be permitted to fly a special burgee signifying their membership status.
