Exciting Competition at the Rolex Miami Olympic Class Regatta

US Sailing’s Rolex Miami Olympic Class Regatta was the place to be last week for anyone who wants to sail in the 2012Olympics in London .  This regatta was established in 1990 and is open to boats competing in events chosen for the Olympic and Paralympic Sailing Competitions. The event is significant as the second of seven stops on ISAF’s Sailing World Cup circuit and is the only of those to be hosted in North America. The USA was represented with the largest contingent of teams (135), followed by Canada (85).  Our own Mexico sent at seven representatives, almost all of whom sail often with us here in the Bahia de Banderas.  Fifteen nations were represented in Saturday night’s Medal Ceremony, but only two of our three favorite countries had Gold medal.
