Ken Gill, our Director at Large who oversees the Junior Sailing program reports a very successful summer program for 2011. We held two great camps over the summer.
First was a beginner’s camp, where six new local children experienced the joys of sailing for the first time. A good time must have been had by all, because they all plan to continue with our sailing classes.

p was for intermediates. Six children participated in this camp, with two of them stepping up from the beginner’s camp. Again, three of these new sailors plan to continue with our sailing classes…. budding sail champions in the making!
One of the highlights of the junior sailing camps was a basic first aid and CPR course. This was provided to us by the local Proteccion Civil. These folks are always in hand for our regattas, and they continue to support us in many ways. Let’s give a big round of “thank yous” from the Vallarta Yacht Club members for all of their assistance!
The summer camps were run by our Coach Eugenie Russell and her new assistant Nora. Nora has proved to be quite an asset to the club, and a great help to Eugenie, so she has been given the position of Assistant Coach. Congratulations and “Bravo, Bravo” to Nora for her great work!
