Just received from Bob Henderson:
Quote:
After a varied nights sleep - some arriving after 0100, we are well fed with breakfast and rushing to the venue to sail while wind is still in the 'teens'. Overall forecast sees at least 28 again today. More news once afloat.

Today's update from Bob:
Quote:
We did an amazing evening lightshow visit to the 5th c temple at Uxmal. Kids being kids thought the 5 hour effort was "boring".

It's again breakfast time then we are off for a quick sail then relax in the pm. Racing day 1 of 3 starts tomorrow.

This from Bob today (Thursday):
Quote:
The offshore wind (SSE)held a very long time today. The 1st rAce in 10 knors/calm water.

Now the (NNE) has filled and the carnage begins. The Naval and Marines that were not around for the practise days are now very busy retrieving boats as they are towed in off the course.

74 Optis, no count yet of other courses.

Eug texted me that 1st race looked great for the Team. Now it's a test of strength and nerve.

Results after official.

Just in from Bob:
Quote:
Sorry nothing on the Board as of departure time. Our Team completed all of 3 Races.

I think the sailors want an earlier bedtime for tonight. It was a great display of boat handling to see our Team blasting back thru the surf for the beach landing.

The latest from Bob (Friday):
Quote:
Again, sorry no results available as of bus departure time. Racing was in the lighter morning breeze today. Lasers were off the water by 1330. Manuel and Paul remain 2 & 3.

Team Nayarit would like to salute and thank our supporting Sponsorship from Vallarta Yachts who supplied all 5 days of gatorade and energy bars that kept us in top shape. We went through a ton of it in the 35 degree temps. Thank You.

Just received from Ibis. What a wonderful message:
Quote:
Hi! We are very proud of our kids, we are holding something very special in our hands and we must continue our efforts on our program.

Thanks to you all for the always present support, faith, trust and encouragement, with out it this medals wouldn't have been possible.

We are also building incredible human beings through sailing, not only great sailors!

We are an AWESOME team all of us at the VYC!! We are very lucky.

We must also take this Olimpiada as an example of group effort and potential with the La Cruz people, skip all the politics, forgive all past issues and move fwd as the good people we are to fully expand our joint work. Its necessary to acknowledge Joaquins and Marias great work and commitment, junior sailing is their life and we have also a bunch of things to learn from them and be thankful to what they have given to our Club.

Happy campers flying back!!

Ibis
